Independent Family Funeral Directors since 1856
The Bastock family have been funeral directors for over 160 years. Over seven generations we have built an enviable reputation for the excellence of the funerals we arrange. Our company has never stood still and we constantly seek to improve on what we do and the choices we provide.
Our objective has never changed, we strive to provide the best possible funeral at the most reasonable cost. In 2001 we opened our new purpose built funeral home in Olton, Solihull. Our investment ensures the facilities we have are without compromise. The bespoke design, private reception rooms and private mourning suites, have all been designed to make your visit a peaceful and calming experience. Our qualified and dedicated advisors will listen to your requirements and guide you through the choices to ensure your complete satisfaction with the arrangements you make.
I hope the information we have here will help you make all the right decisions. Although we have done our best to include the most popular available options, if there is something you would like and you can't find it here, please do call and we will do our best to help. As always, our advice is free and without obligation.
I hope that our hard work and commitment to service continues to set the standards for many generations to come.

Corona Virus – Implications on Funeral Services as lockdown eases - updated February 2022
All our funeral homes are currently open during their normal business hours.
As we arrange and book new funerals we are keeping in mind we may not have all our usual staff available due to illness or isolation. Please be assured we will always have a contingency in place to make sure the funeral takes place. However we all need to be mindful of keeping everyone safe and the possible outcome of local and national guidelines.
Families are welcome into our funeral homes to make arrangements although we would prefer to discuss everything over the phone or by video on your preferred App. We ask you to limit the number of people who attend any of our premises so we can observe social distancing rules. The death registration process has changed significantly so please contact us for up to date information.
Transport - Our limousines now have Covid screens in place so we can safely offer transport for 6 people per limousine.
All our local cemeteries and crematoria have now lifted the restrictions on the number of people who can attend a service. Although we would still advise you to wear a face mask whilst inside the Chapel and respect social distancing.
All our local crematorium chapels now have the facility to live stream services for those who are still unable to attend. However a charge maybe applied depending on the crematorium.
