Coping with Grief
No matter what circumstances a death occurs nothing will prepare you for the sense of loss you are likely to feel. Arranging a funeral, although important, is only a small part of the grieving process. The funeral arrangements will give you a focal point in the beginning and give you the opportunity to express how you feel through the arrangements you make. However this soon passes and you may find your emotions and the ability to cope quite daunting.
The old cliché "time is a great healer" has been used over and over again for good reason. Talking with your family is important, mention your loved one often in conversation. It's alright to get upset, why shouldn't you? We all feel better after a good cry.
Thankfully for most, with the support of those around you, time is all you need to learn to cope with the loss. However, not all of us have the support we need, the right people around us or the ability to see through. Memorial Service
Every year close to Christmas we hold a memorial service for those families we have helped in the previous 12 months. All our families receive an invitation and it gives you an opportunity to light a candle, remember and reflect for an hour.
