Choosing a Coffin
We believe it is important to make a choice that sits comfortably within your budget, with your environmental views, religious belief or indeed anything you feel is important. There are a number of different coffin and casket styles available and they are illustrated below.
Traditional Coffins - All of our traditional coffins are sourced from one supplier who has served us well for many years. Our range contains coffins whose designs are unique to our company, manufactured to specifications handed down over generations. We insist upon a very high standard of finish, ensuring that every coffin we supply is of the very best quality available. All the wood is sourced from managed, sustained yield forests where management and replanting are government supervised. The interiors of our traditional coffins are hand upholstered by our own staff in a choice of colours. All are suitable for burial or cremation. American Style Caskets - These beautiful wood and metal caskets are imported into the UK. The wood selection includes oak, poplar, ash, maple, cherry and mahogany. The wood is sourced from the manufacturers own carefully managed forests. The metal caskets are made from steel, copper and bronze. The metal caskets hermetically seal to prevent any water ingress and come with a 50 year guarantee. Please note, some cemeteries will not accept metal caskets. Italian Style Coffins - These traditional shaped coffins are imported into the UK and have a more ornate style than those manufactured locally. Colourful Coffins - The coffin is often the focal point of the ceremony and for those wanting something different, a colourful coffin is the ideal choice. There and many standard designs available but you can start from scratch and design a bespoke coffin that suits your loved one exactly. Natural Coffins - Coffins made from natural materials such as willow, cane or sea grass are for those who want to make an environmental choice. There is little difference in emissions from the cremation process or in contamination for burial. The real environmental benefit is in the sustainability of the products that are used, and the energy required to harvest and manufacture. Most of the processes are done by hand which makes them ecologically green but sadly this does reflect in their cost. It is a lifestyle choice rather than a cheaper option. Cardboard Coffins - This is the less expensive way to make an environmental choice. We source these from various suppliers so please ask to see examples. |
